New Year's Eve dresses are my absolute favorite. I'll start scrolling through sites in mid-November, searching for the most perfect, sequiny-est, stand-out creation I can find. Cotton just won't cut it for new years. Even if it's just a metallic thread rather than a full layer of sequins, the one rule for New Years is that it MUST sparkle! :-) So, I had a whole array of blinged-out options bookmarked, but for some reason the simple elegance of this dress--though much more understated and less of a risk/ statement than my usual New Year's options--just felt right. When nearly every store is filled with dresses doused full-on with sequins, just a subtle dose of them on the cuffs seems fresh and unique. Statement earrings balance out the built-in double cuffs, platform pumps echo the classic-but-fun feel of the dress, and the pony-haired leopard clutch spices the ensemble up a bit with pattern and texture.
